Engineers Event: STEM and Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development Seminar

The Seminar takes place in Los Angeles within the Crenshaw District

California is home to the Nation's largest manufacturing sector.  From the world-renowned commercial electronics and software industry within Silicon Valley/Bay Area, the Food Manufacturing & Packaging industry in Central California to the Aerospace & Defense industries in Southern California, Manufacturing Research & Development has and continue to provide long-term employment and continuous learning opportunities. The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development Seminar will advocate the socio-economic benefits of these technical job opportunities.

Goal: To disseminate in South Los Angeles information about the required technical skills and available training necessary to pursue and obtain a life-changing STEM and Advanced Manufacturing career.

From a new study looking at the evidence for job growth when public policy chooses energy efficiency:

 “There is a reasonable degree of evidence that in general, renewable energy and energy efficiency are more labor-intensive in terms of electricity produced than either coal- or gas-fired power plant,” the report said. “This implies that at least in the short-term, building new renewable generation capacity or investing in greater energy efficiency to avoid the need for new generation would create more jobs than investing in an equivalent level of fossil fuel-fired generation.
